Recruitment

The Tampa Bay Outlaws, an LGBT and LGBT-fiendly country dance team, is seeking members to join our team. Team members will have permanent placement in some of our routines and join us as understudies in others. The Tampa Bay Outlaws participate in many Pride Events and perform at different entertainment venues. In the future, an ensemble of select members may organize a competition squad as well.

Interested candidates may attend a regularly scheduled practice (contact us for times and dates) or attend special recruitment events. Auditions will be held so certain skill-sets and abilities can be assessed. These include knowledge of basic country dance steps, fluidity in dance, ability to grasp basic routines, showmanship, and group interaction. We seek members that are available to meet performance and practice demands, and have the drive and commitment to be a part of The Tampa Bay Outlaws.

The assessment and selection will be conducted by the team co-directors and instructor/choreographer; along with input from current team members. Please keep in mind that we don’t seek professional dancers, but rather we are looking for individuals who possess the qualities we value and have the desire to learn new country steps, dances and routines.

First and foremost, the mission of The Tampa Bay Outlaws is to have FUN, engage in our community, and entertain!

We are also looking for individuals to join the Tampa Bay Outlaws in non-dance capacities. We need banner marchers and bead throwers for our parades and event aides to assist in costuming, audio, video-taping and organizing functions. If this interests you, please send us a message and indicate that you wish to join as a non-dancing member.
